The Delhi High Court Bar Association (DHCBA) on 27.08.2025 urged the lawyers to wear “black ribbons” while appearing in the Court as a mark of protest against the notification passed by the Delhi Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena.

- DHCBA has asked all lawyers to wear black ribbons in court as a sign of protest
- The protest is against Delhi LG VK Saxena’s August 13, 2025 notification declaring all 226 police stations as “designated places” for police officers to depose before courts via video conferencing instead of appearing physically.
- DHCBA says the notification should be withdrawn immediately and will continue the ribbon protest until that happens.
- Earlier, on August 21, 2025, the Coordination Committee of all District Court Bar Associations had also called for a strike, which is still continuing.
