The issue before the Hon’ble Supreme Court was whether merely scolding a student in response to a complaint made against him constitutes an offence of Abetment of Suicide. The Hon’ble Court held that no normal person could have imagined that the deceased would take his own life on account of scolding while the appellant was ensuring that the complaint made is duly addressed and remedial measures are taken.
