The Hon’ble Allahabad High Court has dismissed a writ plea seeking action against the song ‘Bhai Vakeel Hai’ from the upcoming Bollywood film ‘Jolly LLB 3’. It also rejected the prayer to restrain the movie’s release on the grounds that it allegedly defamed the judiciary and legal profession.

  • The Hon’ble Allahabad High Court dismissed a plea seeking a ban on Jolly LLB 3 and its song ‘Bhai Vakeel Hai’.
  • The Petitioners claimed the film and song insulted the legal profession, lowered the dignity of advocates, and scandalised the judiciary.
  • The Union of India opposed the plea, saying petitioners skipped available remedies under IT Rules, 2021 before approaching court, hence the petition is not maintainable.

  • The Judges had also personally watched trailers and read lyrics, finding nothing derogatory or objectionable.
  • The Hon’ble Court held the film or songs does not interfere with advocates’ dignity or judiciary’s image.
