Case Title :- VINOD KUMAR vs STATE OF RAJASTHAN
Citation:- Diary No- 37200/2025
Date :- 01.08.2025
The Hon’ble Supreme Court has advised lawyers to refrain from giving legal advice over phone calls, cautioning that such conversations may be admissible as evidence in court and could expose them to criminal proceedings.
The Court, while refusing to quash criminal proceedings against a lawyer accused of conspiracy, observed that members of the Bar cannot seek immunity from trial merely by virtue of their profession. It emphasized that sensitive client interactions should be conducted in chambers, not over calls, to ensure professional integrity and safeguard against potential misuse.
