The Hon’ble Patna High Court directed the removal of the AI-generated video posted by the Bihar Congress which features Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother Heeraben Modi from all social media platforms.

  • Congress in Bihar had posted an AI-generated video showing PM Modi dreaming of his late mother, Heeraben, who appears and criticises him for his policies.
  • A PIL was filed on September 16, 2025 by Mr. Vivekanand Singh seeking removal of the video.
  • On deciding the PIL, The Hon’ble Patna High Court ordered immediate removal of the video from all social media platforms.
  • Social Media Platforms like Meta (Facebook/Instagram), Google (YouTube) and X (Twitter) were directed to stop the video’s circulation immediately.
  • The Hon’ble Court cited Hon’ble Court rulings like KS Puttaswamy, NALSA Foundation, and Subramanian Swamy, holding that privacy and dignity are fundamental rights.
